Children’s Future

At Momentum Residential Care Home Ltd we provide a therapeutic approach in a residential setting for young people from 8-17 years old who have complex behaviours.

We have a wealth of experience in helping young people struggling with social emotional and mental health. All Our staff are fully trained to a high standard to support the young people in our care.

We create individual care plans that support the young people as they develop into young adults.

A Safe Home

In order to thrive, we all need to feel secure. As such, our aim is to provide a safe and homely environment for the young people in our care.
Our care team supports our young people as they reflect on their experiences and take responsibility for their lives. We can help by sourcing counselling and therapy where appropriate, as well as connecting our residents with companies offering apprenticeships.

Safeguarding

The welfare and safeguarding of the young people in our care is of paramount importance, we have designated safeguarding leads level 3 trained staff, as well as the outside parties that we work with.

We have a culture of accountability, and a robust framework of policies and procedures relating to the welfare of our young people. This includes procedures for managing complaints, allegations and all other matters relating to the safety of our young people. We are very careful in selecting the companies and organisations that we work with to ensure the safety of every young person in our care.

Outreach Work

Helping our young people prepare for the next step is a vital part of our work. We can work with young people and their families in preparation for their independence. If this is not appropriate, we can help them prepare for the move into an independent living situation. This process can be difficult, but we work to make the transition as smooth as possible, and can continue the contact and assistance for as long as required.

Our Aims:
  • To provide a safe environment where young people can examine their experiences and develop their life skills.
  • To help young people regain control of their lives and develop effective coping mechanisms
  • To help young people prepare for:
    • Their return home to their family (where appropriate)
    • Placement with another family
    • Moving into independent living
  • Encourage young people into education, training and life skills.
  • Support young people with their emotional behaviour.
Our Objectives:
  • To provide a home for our young people to be proud of, where they can develop both emotionally and socially
  • To create a nurturing environment with a committed care team and clear expectations and boundaries
  • If agreed upon in care plans, to provide support, counselling and ongoing outreach work
  • To encourage independence and responsibility, and the improvement of links to the young person’s community, family, carers and others
Our commitment to training:

In order to provide the best possible care, it is vital for our team to be fully trained. We believe in ongoing professional development, and our team is constantly refreshing and updating their skills to enable them to provide quality care.

Helping young people succeed:

At the core of our work is a strong belief in the potential of the young people in our care, and in their ability to achieve their goals. We work closely with them, as well as their families, parents or carers and professionals in other services. This allows us to create personalised care plans for each individual in our care, aimed at helping them to achieve the outcomes specified in the government’s Every Child Matters agenda.

We specialise in the care of young people from the age of 8 to 18years with Emotional Social and Mental Health related issues.
